It's been an interesting day. Whenever anyone (friend and stranger alike) has said to me, "How are you?", I've put on my goofy grin and said "I'M GOING TO NEPAL!!!"
The differing reactions have been interesting. Some just say "oh" and change the subject. Others say "How can this be?".
- Robert said, "You know there's a civil war going on there, don't you? Singing 'Katmandu' by Bob Seger is enough for me."
- Beth Ann said, "You have to take pictures of every plant you see! Dahlia trees? The hair is standing up on the back of my neck!"
- Diane said, "You have to remember every smell and mail home lots of postcards!"
- Karin said, "Where the f*** is Nepal?"
I love my friends.
I am humbled. Truly and completely humbled by the generosity of my family. There's not only the cost involved, but I'll be gone for almost three weeks. That's a long time for my wonderful husband to take care of hearth and home, not to mention a five-year-old and a fifteen-year-old. The support of my parents, husband and children in aiding me in working through my '50 Things I Want to do Before I Die' list is humbling. That's the only word that comes to mind and the only word that describes how I feel.
I deeply love my family.
