Mom's pacemaker procedure was uneventful, as all procedures should be. She was in the hospital overnight and is doing well now. It should be interesting because she has to keep her left arm relatively still for some time. I guess it's lucky she's not Italian because she wouldn't be able to talk without moving her arms.
As usual, she had all the nurses in stitches (hospital humor) with her anecdotes and overall upbeat attitude. She told me about having to open the wet nap with her teeth and by the time she had it torn open, only a quarter of the towel remained. She said, "That's okay because I couldn't brush my teeth and it left a lemony taste in my mouth. Just a little soapy." That's my mom...Always look on the bright side of life!
With some pomp and ceremony, the flagpole was raised! Peter helped Michael get it up (thank goodness) while Pat and I supervised.
The good Captain came over to raise the flag while Pete and Michael hummed Reveille. Download reveille.mp3 . It's a beautiful si
ght on the cul-de-sac for all to enjoy.
I ordered white hedge roses to plant around the flagpole and they arrived today! Hopefully tomorrow, I'll be able to get them into the ground.
Sunday should be interesting as Michael, my good friend Sue, Daddy and I are teaming up to play in a Sweethearts tournament at the club. Sue will be Daddy's sweetheart and Michael (as always) will be mine. I say 'as always'...we'll see after the day is done.
The weather should be lovely with a high temp of about 85 degrees. That's a far cry from the weather last weekend at the swim meet in Daytona.
