I found this and a lot of other postcards while going through old pictures at my parent's house today.
This postcard, mailed in 1911, was sent to my grandmother Elizabeth. She is also who my daughter was named for.
I thought the postmark was interesting because not only does it have the date: July 12, 1911, but it also has the time: 11:30 p.m.
The card was mailed from Coney Island to Brooklyn.
I couldn't imagine spending the night on Coney Island Beach now!
The other thing I like about these and other old postcards is the handwriting. It was a time when fountain pens were used and penmanship mattered.
